Meet the Team - Darren - Centre Host
Darren joined Poole Audi in November 2024, bringing with him a diverse background in customer-facing roles, including aviation, retail, and a long career in the police force. He also has experience in mechanical engineering and motorcycles, which gives him a strong connection to vehicles and the world of transport.
What Darren enjoys most about his role is the variety of responsibilities he has as a Centre Host at Poole Audi – from welcoming customers at reception, supporting them in the drive-in service lounge, to handling telephone enquiries. “No two days are the same,” he says, “and I love that variety, every day is busy, and every customer interaction is different.”
Darren finds it especially rewarding when he can connect customers with the right Sales Specialist and later discover they’ve purchased a vehicle. “It’s a great feeling knowing I might have played a small part in someone finding their new Audi.”
What stands out most to Darren about Poole Audi is the team environment and culture. “Sales, Service, and Hosts all work closely together – we understand each other’s needs, and that cohesion makes everything run smoothly. It’s one of the nicest environments I’ve ever worked in.”
When it comes to favourite models, Darren has his sights set on the Audi SQ5, which he appreciates for its combination of performance, comfort, and practicality. “Having driven lots of cars, the Audi SQ5 is perfect for someone like me – a mix of power and usability.”
Outside of work, Darren enjoys motorcycles, working on his bikes, and recently refurbished a camper van for weekend trips. He also enjoys playing the guitar, going sea fishing, and spending time with his young granddaughter.
