The Audi Q2 is one of those cars that makes sense when you want the driving position and practicality of an SUV without moving into a larger vehicle.
It is compact enough for everyday driving around Poole and Bournemouth, but still gives you a raised seating position, five doors and useful passenger and luggage space. That balance is a big part of the Q2's appeal as a used Audi.

There is also plenty of choice between 30 TFSI and 35 TFSI petrol engines, manual and S tronic transmissions, and Sport, S line and Black Edition specifications.
A compact Audi SUV for everyday driving
The Q2 occupies the smaller end of Audi's SUV range, which makes it particularly easy to live with if you spend a lot of time in town.
Its dimensions are useful when parking or negotiating narrower roads, while the elevated driving position gives you a different perspective from a conventional hatchback. It also retains the five-door layout that makes the car practical for passengers and everyday loading.
For someone who likes the idea of an SUV but does not need the additional size of a Q3 or Q5, the Q2 can be a more natural fit.
Choosing the right Q2 engine
Our current used stock is predominantly petrol, with 30 TFSI models producing 110 PS and 35 TFSI versions producing 150 PS. There is also a used 2020 Q2 Black Edition with the more powerful 40 TFSI quattro powertrain producing 190 PS.
The 30 TFSI is well suited to drivers who mainly want an economical, straightforward compact SUV for everyday use. Moving to the 35 TFSI gives you additional power, which can be useful if you regularly carry passengers or spend more time on faster roads.
The 40 TFSI quattro is a different proposition altogether. With 190 PS, S tronic and four-wheel drive, it is the Q2 to look at if performance and additional traction are more important to you.
Manual or S tronic?
The used Q2 market gives you the choice of both.
Several of our 30 TFSI and 35 TFSI cars use a six-speed manual gearbox, while newer 35 TFSI examples are paired with Audi's S tronic automatic transmission.
A manual can appeal if you prefer a more traditional driving experience and want to keep control of the gear changes yourself. S tronic is particularly convenient in stop-start traffic and around town, while also making longer journeys more relaxed.
It is worth trying both if you are undecided. The gearbox can change the character of the Q2 more than you might expect.
Sport, S line or Black Edition?
Specification is another important part of choosing a used Q2.
Sport models offer the straightforward Q2 experience, while S line adds a sportier character and is a popular choice within the range. Black Edition takes the styling further and is aimed at buyers who want a more distinctive appearance. Our current stock includes all three specifications.
There are also differences between model years, so it is worth checking the equipment of each individual car rather than assuming that every Q2 with the same trim badge has exactly the same specification.
If features such as upgraded lighting, parking technology, infotainment or particular interior finishes matter to you, compare the individual vehicle descriptions carefully.
Why choose a used Audi Q2?
The Q2 is particularly easy to justify if you do not need a large SUV.
It gives you the higher seating position many drivers now prefer, but without the extra length and width that can make larger SUVs less convenient around town. It is also small enough to feel familiar to someone moving from a hatchback.
At the same time, the Audi badge brings a more upmarket cabin and driving environment than you might expect from a compact SUV.
That makes the Q2 suitable for a range of buyers: first-time Audi customers, downsizers who still want an SUV-style car, couples who do not need a large family vehicle, and drivers looking for a compact car that can handle longer journeys as well as local trips.
Which used Q2 makes sense?
There is quite a spread in our current stock, so price alone does not tell the whole story.
The older 2022 and 2023 cars provide a choice of manual and automatic versions, with 30 TFSI and 35 TFSI engines and different trim levels. At the newer end of the range, our 2025 and 2026 cars are predominantly 35 TFSI S tronic models with low mileages.
That gives buyers several ways into Q2 ownership. You might prefer an older, lower-priced car with the specification you want, or decide that a newer, low-mileage example is worth the additional outlay.
